I tried this with lemons and it didn't work I spoke with a plumber. He said that doing things like this will harm the inside of your toilet and told me to say please do not do this! That was with lemons, so I would think soap is worse. I rarely write negatively but feel this is important enough.

I don’t see the point of the toilet paper. As soon as the mix is put on it, it just draws the water away leaving wet baking Soda. This ac5ually harms the effect since it works best with more air contacted surface area. Dry baking soda grains increases the surface area greatly whereas wettin* it reduces the area to just the exact area… Just get a saucer and sprinkle the bicarbonate soda on that… or just open the fucking box or or just clean the fridge or just throw out the rotten shit.
